  • Following the cancellation notice for Service from the Start (SfS) for MOTOTRBO Devices, Motorola Solutions is pleased to issue pre-launch information on our new MOTOTRBO™ device support packages. These new packages will follow the Motorola Solutions continuum of service methodology and comprise Essential, Essential with Repair and Advanced services.
     
    • Essential provides Technical Support and a Software Maintenance Agreement giving access not only to bug fixes on the shipped release but also to software updates to the latest shipping release for the duration of the contract period. Repair for customers on the Essential tier will be as per standard warranty terms.
    • Essential with Repair will build on the Essential tier providing the same benefits of Essential but adding hardware repair including normal wear and tear and one way shipping.
    • Advanced will provide all the benefits of the Essential with Repair tier with the added benefits of cover for accidental damage and two way shipping. Exact scope of these new services is being refined along with pricing and will be made available, as will sales and marketing collateral, on Partner Central as soon as they are available.

    Customers Affected
    All customers purchasing MOTOTRBO™ devices that require a service offer above standard warranty.

    Service Implications
    These three service packages will be available to sell with all MOTOTRBO™ devices and selectable at time of purchase.

    Options for existing customers outside warranty and not covered by a service package, or looking to renew existing SfS contracts at their expiry, are also being developed and details will be made available when possible.

    Existing SfS contracts will remain valid and service will be delivered in line with their relevant service scope and Service Level Agreements.
