I joined July 2014 as a Warehouse Operative. I was trained on all the systems and processes, put through my counterbalance forklift ticket. 9 months into my employment a vacancy arose in the technical department. Now 8 years later I am still loving my job and its trials and tribulations!

Why did you decide to change your role within the buisness?

I had expressed and shown interest in moving away from the Warehouse role when a couple of vacancies arose.

How did you go about progressing into your current role- was it easy?

After expressing my interest in the technical role I had a meeting with the technical lead and management, I was moved to the technical team on a trial basis and happy to say it's worked out so far.

Were you supported in your career progression journey? For example, was there training in place to accommodate you in your new role?

Yes, I was supported by the other team members to build my knowledge base along with attending and completing various manufacturers training programs to become affiliated and competent to fulfil the role.

Do you see yourself progressing any further/ changing roles within the business in the future?

As it stands I can't currently progress any further but as the business grows there is potential, and training programs and continued learning are always available.
